We’ve recently starting letting out this 1 bedroom self catering rental in Linlithgow. I think it’s great for a cheaper rental for Edinburgh festival, but I’m having difficulty adverting it. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks
Jenny

hi, was wondering if this was legal and what you would advise me.
i booked a holiday house direct with the owner last week and he asked me to pay a deposit that day so that he can take off the adverts from various websites he subscribes to. i paid that day, and 3 days later he told me that the house got booked through his main agent the night before and he has to legally accept that booking and can he give me my money back. firstly, i called english country cottages, who advertise his property, and they said they took no booking, and secondly this was last week, and i have heard nothing back from him, no money, or emails or anything. any advice guys???

Hi,
My name is Jon and I’m working with Cottages4you.com. I see your blog deals with holiday cottages and I thought I’d send over a video that Cottages4you and eight times world memory champion Dominic O’Brien have created to help people remember their holiday memories which can be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0Pr9ftc8cw (holiday memories act as a very powerful tool for beating stress and relaxing the mind!)
In addition, they have created a fun interactive memory challenge game in which players can put the technique to the test and try to remember the eight items in the video in order:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K23YjeW_24M
They are also inviting people to share their holiday memories at http://www.facebook.com/cottages4you
Cottages4you research findings
According to findings from a new study 32 per cent of Brits rely on their favourite holiday memories to stay in good spirits whilst 25 per cent use them to stay motivated and more than one in ten use them to help beat stress.
Despite the continued economic gloom and people’s money worries, 80 per cent of us consider treasured holiday memories to be more important than money and 75 per cent of those polled claim that a happy holiday memory will dictate where they stay for a 2012 break. The most memorable UK area is Cornwall, followed by Scotland and then the Lake District.
Please let me know if you need anything else,
Thanks,
Jon

We have a survey showing soaring demand for wi-fi in holiday cottages as families feel it increasingly necessary to keep in touch with work (checking emails etc) while on holiday. Thought it might be of interest for your blog. Do email me and I will send full survey results over.

Hey Jenny
Thanks for the message! Loads of different ways to do this, but I guess the key thing in your case is that you’re aiming to rent it out for a specific event (eg. the Edinburgh Festival). So I guess the thing is to really target people who are already looking at going to that…
Holidaycottages.cc is a good fit for long-term self catering lets. There’s also a “Special Offers” page which we could put your listing on. So that might be worth a look!
We could also do some blog posts on this blog and try and promote cottages near to Edinburgh Festival etc….
I’ll send you an email to discuss as well!
Thanks
Tom
