Cornwall has a reputation for producing great food, it has a wealth of famous restaurants and Michelin-starred chefs so it’s no surprise that this September the Lemon Quay in the Cornish city of Truro will be holding the annual Cornwall Food and Drink Festival 2010.

The festival runs from Friday 24th – Sunday 26th September and is free to go to for a great family day out. Watch chefs in action at the ‘Chefs’ Theatre’ headed by Michelin star holder Nathan Outlaw who won the South-West heat of the ‘Great British Menu’ on BBC TV.

Sunday hosts the ‘Young Chefs’ Challenge’ for children under the age of 11 and the evenings host ‘The Magnificent Seven’ whereby a host of the best local chefs cook with Cornish produce to create a sumptuous five course dinner for a lucky few. Unfortunately due to last year’s popularity, this year’s tables are already sold out, but you can book for next year!

In addition to the main festival, Truro will pay host to many other associated foodie events and things to do also, so if you don’t quite make it down to the marquee you could go on the ale trail, a food forage or go to the oyster festival!
