We’ve added a new article on walking in Wales. Solange Hando stays in a holiday cottage in Snowdonia, and manages to make it to the top of mount Snowdon – the highest peak in England and Wales.

It’s great that Solange’s children loved their walk up Snowdon. It goes to show that with the right kind of parental encouragement, this can become a real adventure. Kids can walk miles and miles and really enjoy it – if we only let them. Exercise is the answer to our obesity problem. It’s my personal view that it doesn’t matter so very much what they eat – as long as fruit and veg and other fibre are consumed each day. Lots of activity – preferably outdoors – is the key.
Huge numbers of readers of Holiday Cottages magazine and its website LOVE walking. This year there are going to be more walking festivals than ever in the British Isles.
I’m just compiling a list of festivals for the next magazine’s Update – the section that brings you news about travel and tourism in these islands. I’ll shortly post on this blog all the information I’ve gathered so far. Then I’ll update is as I find more information. If anyone knows of a walking festival that I haven’t mentioned, could you please add it in the comments section? Then we can let everyone else know. Many thanks.
